When there’s a molded wax plug jammed in your ear, free-time writing is a decidedly secondary focus. Life’s primary focus is, of course, hey, I have a wax plug jammed in my ear. It recurs in 1-to-5 minute intervals for the entirety of the ten days that it’s there. This is why I’ve written this, and little else, over the last month.
But, I exaggerate. It’s not a plug. It’s some odd, post-operative bio-sponge with Google-defying powers. I don’t know much more about it, save that it went from curiosity to creepy annoyance pretty quickly. Well, the thing came out on Monday and, immediately, life became less annoying. It was anti-climactic, actually. I expected more pomp or drama leading up to the thing popping out with barely a twitch from the doctor’s wrist.
So, back to work. Back to life. Back to the grind. In the spirit of this sense of renewal, and in spite of the continually crazy political climate in the U.S., here are some kittens, which improve virtually everything.
